V listopadu 2008 se u firmy Greg Martin Auctions dražily párové pistole firmy A.V. Lebeda s výrobním číslem 4473.

Popis zbraní jsme ponechali v původním znění a pouze doplníme, že ačkoli odhadní cena se pohybovala mezi 15 až 25 000 dolarů, pistole se prodaly za pro kupce skvělých 10 000 dolarů.
Inu v listopadu 2008 byla v Americe finanční a hospodářská krize tématem číslo jedna a jaksi nezbývaly dolárky na nákup hodnotných věcí.


Fine Cased Pair of Gold Inlaid and Engraved A.V. Lebeda, Prague, Percussion Single Shot Rifled and D

Serial no. 4473. .50 caliber, with 10-inch rifled and patent breech Damascus octagon barrels. Top of breech gold-inlaid and engraved in low relief "Lebeda." Leaf and floral breech decoration engraved and gold and silver inlaid. Adjustable for elevation rear sight with adjustment screw adjacent, set in each upper tang. Steel front sight blade on steel base, dovetailed at each muzzle. Platinum plug on each nipple bolster. Deep 7-groove rifling. Various marks on bottom of richly detailed Damascus twist barrels, including nos. 4473. Upper tangs with individual low relief gold inlaid numbers, 1 and 2. Exquisitely engraved on barrel breech and upper tangs, locks, and matching steel triggerguards, triggerplates and wedgeplates. Various floral details in low relief engraved gold, different colors on hammers and locks. Tail of lock of each pistol engraved in low relief "a Prague." Single set trigger on each pistol. Varnished select walnut stocks, with checkered panels matching style of engraving. Oval silver escutcheon inlaid on top of wrist of each pistol. Veneered varnished walnut case with German silver escutcheon inlaid on lid and German silver corners. Contour lined in green felt and with varnished hardwood compartment lids with turned bone pulls. Accessories of embossed powder flask, steel single cavity bullet mold with sprue cutter (for round balls), combination screwdriver with three exchange blades, powder measurer steel and brass, mallet of turned and faceted polished horn a?
Condition: Fine. Gray finished steel, with sharp gold inlaying and engraving and richly detailed Damascus twist to barrels. Light spots of scattered pitting. Stocks with 60% varnish, light wear, nicks and mars, and partially bruised checkering. Pistol 1 with partially chipped lip to barrel wedge.
